Forest revenue over the past decade

Kerala’s forest revenue over the past decade shows noticeable fluctuations rather than a steady growth trend. Revenue was relatively strong in 2015-16 (₹290 crore) and peaked in 2016-17 at ₹297 crore, before declining to ₹245 crore in 2017-18. After a brief recovery in 2018-19 (₹287 crore), collections again dipped through 2019-20 and 2020-21, reaching ₹237 crore, and further falling to a decade low of ₹201 crore in 2021-22. A significant rebound occurred in 2022-23 with revenue rising to ₹289 crore, nearly matching earlier peak levels. However, the following two years saw moderate declines to ₹261 crore in 2023-24 and ₹245 crore in 2024-25. Overall, the data indicates cyclical variations influenced by market conditions, policy measures, and environmental factors, with no sustained upward trajectory across the decade.
